Family:
Bellatrix is a pureblood witch who was born to Cygnus Black the third and Druella Black. The Blacks are a very old, very prestigious pureblood family, with a long line in history, and well known for dabbling in things they shouldn't, such as the dark arts, and many other illegal things, like dark artifacts, and banned or illegal potions and potions ingredients. That's just to name a few.

She is the elder sister of Andromeda Tonks and Narcissa Malfoy, and cousin to Sirius and Regulus Black, both now deceased. Growing up, Bellatrix was quite close to her sisters, especially Andromeda, as the two were closer in age. While she had always secretly respected and admired Andromeda's courage to marry for love, she hated her sister and confidant for leaving her. Especially for a muggle. Bella's real extreme dislike of muggles and muggleborns began there, blaming Ted Tonks for taking her sister from her. It wouldn't be until Lily Evans arrived on the scene that Bellatrix would start to truly hate them.

She is the aunt of Nymphadora Tonks, Draco Malfoy, and Leyton and Luca Lestrange. Nymphadora she has never met, nor cares to. As far Bella is concerned, she wants nothing to do with the little halfbeast. Draco has always been her favorite nephew, and Bella has never had a problem showing that, but he often presses his luck and disappoints her, and she has also never had an issue punishing him. Leyton and Luca test her patience, and she often has to remind herself she is not to kill the twins. Crucioing them, however, is quite alright. So long as they don't lose their minds.

She has her own daughter, Noxaura Lestrange (Riddle), her daughter with Tom Riddle, also known as Lord Voldemort, now going by the name of Cyrus Gaunt,  whom she had an affair with and gave birth to his child not long before his downfall. Though she is a halfblood, its barely, and she is the Dark Lord's daughter.  

Bellatrix has, since her release from Azkaban (or break out, to be more accurate), spent a good deal amount of time with her daughter when she can. Though she is not someone most would consider to be very motherly, Bellatrix does care for her only child, and wants the best for her. She finds herself often proud to have such an offspring, though she is also is quick to point out what she considers to be weaknesses in the girl. After all, Bellatrix has never been one who was easily impressed, and being her child makes it no easier. One could argue it's even more difficult to impress her in this case.

She is sister in law to Ted Tonks, who she would just as soon torture as talk to, Rabastan Lestrange, who she never liked and is now dead, and Lucius Malfoy, who she also never liked, and her only regret in regard to either is that she hadn't been able to kill them herself for what they had the nerve to do to her nephews.

She was wife to Rodolphus Lestrange, the result of an arranged marriage, and she never showed any love or preference for him. In fact, when possible, she had acted as if he didn't exists at all.

Personal:
Bellatrix grew up in the rich, wealthy, and pureblood lifstyle those of the House of Black were accustomed to. So it's no real surprise that the woman is arrogant, prideful, and haughty, with a sense of entitlement and a selfish streak. She attended Hogwarts when it was time, and was sorted into Slytherin, much to the pride of her family. She eventually married Rodolphus Lestrange, an alliance that was expected of her and arranged between the two pureblood families, but Bellatrix showed no preference or affection for him. In fact, she much preferred Severus Snape, and even had a passionate, secret relationship with the dark wizard at one point, until he earned her ire for being so hung up on Lily Potter née Evans.

Bella had genuinely loved the man, and he had crushed her heart. Unbeknownst to him, she had become pregnant with the Dark Lord's child after having an affair with the man who was in a similar heartbroken situation during the time, something the witch had kept secret with the aid of glamours and the like. After giving birth to the girl, Bella had no choice but to leave her in the care of her sister-in-law, Rabastan's wife, to grow up alongside Luca and Leyton.  It was the best arrangement she could have made for the girl. As well as the safest, given everything going on at the time.

When the Dark Lord rose to power the first time around, Bellatrix and her husband, Rodolphus, were among the first to join him. The Dark Lord took Bellatrix under his wing and trained her in the Dark Arts, which contributed to her incredible talent as an extreme duelist. Bellatrix and Rodolphus fought for the Dark Lord and his Death Eaters during the first war, and remained loyal to the Dark Lord even after he fell.

However, they were caught and sentenced to life in Azkaban, and while Bellatrix was in her right mind when she had committed the crime and sentenced for it, spending the long years in Azkaban with only the dementors  around took its toll on her mentality, and she grew insane, and more sadistic. In fact, she forgot about everything and anything minus the Dark Lord.

Eventually, the Dark Lord rose to power once again and broke her, her husband, his brother, and many others out of the prison. Her insanity was apparent to everyone, minus the Dark Lord who had come back to power insane as well, and many feared her, death eaters as well. But in the passing year, the freedom from the dementors did her some good as she steadily morphed back into original self. She was still as bloodthirsty as she had been, but had more of a grip on reality, remembered more of her past, and could be in a room of people without the need to torture someone. Though she still enjoyed the torture greatly when she was given the opportunity.  

Over the past few years, Bellatrix has worked on a potion with Severus that will restore the Dark Lord to his younger self, so that he may pick up where he left off so many years ago and take the wizarding world by storm. In the process, Bella's secret daughter became not such a secret at all, coming out along with the revelation of Tom's other daughter.

Also during this time, Bella was forced to come to terms with her long time locked away feelings for Severus Snape, as the revelation of their daughter and working together on their mission brought their past to light. After nearly killing the dark wizard, Bella gave in to her emotions, but quickly took it back due to still being married to Rodolphus, and as much as she detested the man, he was her husband. But not too long afterwards, the Dark Lord was sent word of him being involved in a plot with Lucius and Rabastan, and the three were killed by his hand.

At that point, Bellatrix was freed from the bonds of marriage, and tortured Severus every living minute by pointedly flaunting that fact out of spite. It wasn't until the man finally snapped and begged for her to end said torture that Bella gave him a second chance, though, due to her ability to hold a life long grudge, she often still makes snide comments and remarks regarding the filthy muggleborn he had once put above her, if only to remind him that no one belongs above Bellatrix Lestrange.

Now, she will take part in the Dark Lord's plan, along with Severus, to return to Merlin's (where she will decidedly go by the name Bella Prince) as grad students in order to continue training the foolish children and keep an eye on them, as the Dark Lord is unwilling to let his own daughters completely out of his sight, because of Dumbledore. Bella is looking forward to bring restored to a younger version of herself, and flaunting to everyone else what a real witch is and looks like. After all, its been said that Bellatrix does not have an equal in beauty and brains, and definitely not when it comes to being sadistic.

Bellatrix also looks forward to continue to spend time with her daughter, and continue to personally train her in Dark Arts, and the art of dueling, her two prized talents. She has found Noxaura to be an exceptional pupil over the years, and that has been enough for her offspring to garner some form of respect from her. Though she favors her own daughter, she has developed a soft spot for her daughter's half sister as well, and though she has by no means gone soft, Bellatrix is not unjustifiably cruel. Its just sometimes her version of justice is a little skewed. And just like most don't live to tell the tale once they cross the dark witch, the same could be said for when someone crosses her child. While Bella is not overly affectionate, she is not completely heartless towards the children in her life. She awards them for a job well done, advises them when they are doing something wrong, and hasn't a problem giving them things when they have earned it. She has hardly ever had to use her wand on any of them, but that is most likely due to the fact that most of them are wise enough to not tempt her to for the most part. Bellatrix does not tolerate disrespect from anyone, and they have learned that.

For the most part, now with her being in her right mind, Bellatrix has shaped up to be quite the mother, aunt, and somewhat stand-in mother (in the case of Skyler), if still unorthodox due to her love of torture and causing pain. She is by no means easily pleased, but she is also not heartless, and has found, after spending much time around all the children, that she does indeed care for them.
